M. Gustave (Gus) Pick joined the firm in 2007 after practicing in Texas for the past 7 years. Gus graduated from the University of Houston Law Center. At the Law Center Gus served as Managing Editor of the Houston Journal of International Law. Gus is licensed in both Wisconsin and Texas and is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bars of Wisconsin and Texas. Gus is admitted to practice before all Wisconsin and Texas State Courts and the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. His practice is concentrated in estate planning and probate, corporate/business law, and employment law. While working in Texas, Attorney Pick's practice focused on the representation of several dozen businesses, including employment law representation on a state-wide basis for a number of companies, including several large school districts and insurance companies. He litigated employment and benefits issues throughout the State of Texas and was named a Texas Bar Association's Rising Star (the equivalent of Wisconsin's Super Lawyer designation) in 2006. Gus, a Division 1 scholarship athlete at Coastal Carolina University, received his undergraduate degree in 1988 from Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina where he majored in Finance. An All-American Scholar Award Winner as an undergraduate, Gus was able to balance inter-collegiate athletics and studies, graduating in 4 years with academic honors. Following graduation, Gus worked for seven years for Aid Association For Lutherans (now Thrivent Financial) as a District Representative. In that capacity he assisted clients with Financial Planning and Asset Management. The skills he learned in that position have served him well in his capacity as an Estate Planner at Gatzke & Ruppelt. Gus was born and raised in New Berlin, Wisconsin, where he starred in several sports in high school. He lives with his wife, Deanne and two of their three children in New Berlin. Gus and Deanne's oldest son plays college football in Oregon.
